MOTION                                                                             

I like the abstraction of

it, how it suggests

emotion, how it, a noun, embodies

movement, the tension of

overcaffeination, action, the fear that

builds up in your body as you

cross the bridge that connects this

world to the rest of the world over what

feels like a hundred years of

progress, of water, of geometric suspension over

myth, over

space, over your own best instincts,

over the rationality of what

you like to call your mind, even though

it's more like brain, a

chunk of meat, resisting

dissection or its action directed in-

ward, selfward, which is to say that

no understanding is gleaned through

action, though there is some satisfaction

here underneath the

years
